Like many trailer dealerships, Feed World didn’t get its start in the trailer industry. Instead, Dave Atherton’s store started by selling feed in 1983. However, when the recession hit, Atherton noticed the company’s feed revenue was “dropping a little bit.” What started as a slow roll out ramped up when he ventured, for the very first time, to the 2019 NATDA Trade Show & Convention. There, he not only decided to add an aluminum line from Legend Manufacturing Inc., but met with Trailer Central about the development of a brand new website. In the early 2010s, Atheron picked a phone call from Econoline Trailers and hasn’t looked back. He also added Carson Trailers to his inventory in 2015 and followed it with Five Star Trailers. “I haven’t gotten a load of trailers, yet. They’ve been great to work with so far, though,” Atherton says of his relationship with Legend’s staff.
