PIERCE is on a mission to pull for the work truck and trailer industry. Jeff Pierce spent the summer of 1976 building a small, metal office in Henrietta, Texas. With little money left over to buy inventory, Pierce scoured the classifieds on a weekly basis to sell consignment. With his friendly personality, a vision to offer the best price and guidance from his dad, George, it wasn’t long before his new company, Pierce Sales, became a regional powerhouse. The company has now spent that last forty- three years doing what it does best, serving customers through its mantra and slogan – pulling for you. Over the years, PIERCE evolved from a local store, to a regional trailer manufacturer to, now, a components manufacturer on a mission to pull for the work truck and trailer industry. The team fulfills this commitment by offering a wide range of truck-mounted equipment. Aside from partnering with Lodar for wireless controls, PIERCE now manufactures winches, wired controls, hydraulics, bale spikes, dump bed hoists and more. However, if you walked by PIERCE’S booth at the 2019 NATDA Trade Show & Convention, there is one thing that stands out immediately – bright, colorful coolers. Not only are the coolers well built and useful, PIERCE often raffles them off as prizes at various events. One dealership owner, Tom Luft of Luft Trailer Sales Inc. in Ellensburg, Washington, won a PIERCE cooler at the 2019 28 NATDA Trade Show – a prize with a significance that didn’t dawn on him right away. “When I returned to my hotel and opened my NATDA magazine to read Jeff’s story, I realized that my new PIERCE cooler came from the same Pierce that helped me start my successful trailer business,” Luft said. “I bought my first four trailers for resale from Pierce Sales in 1991.” Though PIERCE no longer sells trailers, it’s clear to see the company has been “pulling” for the industry for a long time. Making the switch from local sales to national distribution was no small task. What remains the same, though, is PIERCE’s customer service model that boasts a 99% customer retention rate from five-year-plus accounts. Customers, such as long-time fan Tom Luft, head to PIERCE for the price, service, product variation and friendly team. They stay, however, because PIERCE is pulling for them and their business.
