SILVER MOUNTAIN TRAILERS is the name of the newest
project from 40-year-old metal mechanics company Industria Real,
located in Guadalajara, Mexico. While it may only be six months
old, Silver Mountain Trailers’ Ivan Ramirez and Jair Carmona
believe the company’s metal-working background will translate to
success within its target markets of the U.S. and Canada.
NATDA: Explain Silver Mountain Trailers – what do you do as
a company?
RAMIREZ: We have been welding for over forty years and
we have been galvanizing for almost twenty years. We are very
experienced in metal fabrication. The Silver Mountain project
is new and the core business is galvanized trailers. Because of
the coating that we provide, our trailers last longer and require
less maintenance. That is why this is a new brand for the market,
30
especially for states where the conditions are snowy or humid.
Corrosion affects powder-coated or painted trailers in a faster
way. That is our niche.
NATDA: Dealers will have to bring in your trailers from Mexico,
but there are already providers in the U.S. What makes Silver
Mountain Trailers the right choice?
CARMONA: We have a big engineering team at the company,
so that is a big help. We are also not offering a basic trailer. This
one is designed and engineered to provide the max payload
without sacrificing the strength of the materials. It is going to be
light, but durable. It is a combination of materials and strength.
RAMIREZ: Mexico is still an unknown to a lot of people. I
can assure you – and this is supported by a lot of U.S. companies
