NATDA™ Magazine - March/April 2025 | Page 8

NATDA Magazine recently sat down with Nick Mirsberger, owner of Mirsberger Sales & Service, Inc., to discuss his success in the trailer industry, the importance of dealer involvement, the power of NATDA’ s events, and strategies for navigating today’ s changing market.
With 25 years in business, Mirsberger has built a thriving operation that includes both a retail store and a manufacturing division, employing a team of 35 employees across both divisions of his business.
Q: What would you say is the key to your success at Mirsberger Sales & Service? A: Hard work and dedication, seven days a week. It’ s truly a family business— my wife Vicki, my son Boyd, and my daughter Emma have all been involved since the very beginning. Their commitment, along with our incredible staff, has helped us grow and sustain success over the years.
Q: You are very involved in the Dealer Advisory Council and in the industry, in general. Can you tell me a little about the importance of getting involved? A: The trailer industry has changed so much in the last 10 years, especially with technology, computers, and economic shifts. Staying engaged is key. Through mentoring and podcasts, I’ ve had the opportunity to share insights with other dealers, and those conversations are still happening long after events like the NATDA Trailer Tech Expo and the NATDA Trailer Show. Being involved helps you stay ahead and build strong industry connections.
Q: You recently attended the NATDA Industry Excellence Awards. What was that experience like? A: It was a great feeling— meeting new faces, connecting with manufacturers, and seeing fresh energy in the industry. Events like this bring awareness to the industry and highlight the hard work dealers and manufacturers are putting in every day. Being a part of these events is a reminder of how important it is to stay engaged – the more involved you are, the more opportunities you have to grow.
Q: With the current economic shifts, what are some smart strategies dealers can use to keep their businesses strong? A: The market is always evolving, and being proactive instead of reactive makes all the difference. We planned ahead and secured inventory early this year, ensuring we’ re well-stocked for the upcoming season. My advice? Choose your business partners wisely— strong relationships can help you navigate uncertainty and adapt to change. Many dealers operate on the fly, but strategic planning is what keeps you ahead.
