In today ’ s day and age , focusing on digital marketing is 4 Corners Trailers ’ best tip . The dealership started out with a basic website , joined Facebook and has since hired better technology support to capitalize on the online world . If there is any one avenue to start out with , 4 Corners Trailers vouches for a great website . When they first opened , Hillyer listed ten to fifteen of their trailers on Craigslist to get sales rolling . Business has been booming ever since .
“ The first load of trailers that came in still gives me goosebumps ,” Laura remembers . “ That first time we broke $ 100,000 in a month – that was fun . Now , we are breaking $ 400,000 ! I remember when my husband said , ‘ We probably have to sell at least 10 trailers a week and we can make it work .’ Now , we sell fifteen to twenty a week . In this area , that ’ s amazing .”
In addition to its financial success , Laura is proud to run 4 Corners Trailers as a family business . Within the trailer industry , families are often all involved in business together – a fact that she treasures .
“ A really proud moment for me was opening a business with my husband . It ’ s phenomenal working with him ,” Laura said . “ We have a tractor dealership on one side and the trailer dealership on the other ; we ’ re split by a highway . My husband and son work on the tractor side and my daughter and I work on the trailer side .”
