Silent Ride The Aeon ® was destined to become more than just a suspension helper spring. In an effort to fill the gap between the conventional trailer suspension – a low cost system with poor ride quality – and the superior but costly air-ride suspension, Timbren’ s engineering department developed a cost-effective suspension that delivers exceptional ride quality. And, it’ s all based on the remarkable design and application of a new Aeon ® spring. Because of its ability to equalize the load over both axles, the tandem Silent Ride suspension continues to meet the rigorous demands of the trailer industry.
Axle-Less Timbren’ s latest creation, a unique trailer suspension that requires no through axle, creates some exciting possibilities for the off-road market. Originally crafted for the military, this amazing feat of design engineering allows for maximum ground clearance and provides a soft, quiet ride. The unique shape of the Aeon ® spring is part of the secret sauce that makes it work so well. In 2011, the Axle-Less suspension captured first prize at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas for best off-road product.
Active Off-road Bumpstops Recently, Timbren’ s off-road enthusiasts expressed a keen interest in Aeon ® hollow rubber springs. Looking for a solution to the harsh response of factory-installed bump stops when navigating super-rough terrain, off-roaders tried using Timbren SES upgrades. Even though SES springs replaced the factory
bump stops, they were never meant to be used as bump stops. To help their off-road customers achieve more control, Timbren designed a line of products called Active Off-Road Bumpstops. By shortening up on the brackets and softening the durometer of the rubber, AORB kits soon became the perfect fix for extreme off-road conditions.
Air Ride Suspensions Of the many air-ride trailer suspensions on the market today, only two products meet Timbren’ s standard of excellence: STI and Dakota Air. The STI air suspension provides a smooth, controlled ride made possible with its independent suspension system. Dakota Air, on the other hand, works with a straight axle, combining strength and easy maintenance. Both Timbren products are manufactured in Canada.
The dedicated staff at Timbren Industries are proud of their commitment to excellence and anticipate another 50 years of growth and innovation. Happy Anniversary, Timbren!
