iscovering your strengths and leaning into them can be
a challenge. The desire to manufacture everything, is a
trap that manufacturers succumb to often. Hugh “Buddy”
Wilson, Bye Rite Trailer and Fabrication’s owner, has figured out
how to avoid that pitfall.
“Focus on what you do well,” Wilson explains. “Understand your
strengths and weaknesses but build on your strengths.”
It’s sage advice from someone that has seen the success of

“I’ve focused on the things we do well. We’ve been able to maintain
quality and speed with that, allowing us to satisfy customers’
needs. The things that I don’t build quickly – I’ve found good
manufacturers to partner with,” Wilson continues.
Bye Rite Trailer and Fabrication has been in operation for nearly
thirty years with sales tripling in the years since Wilson acquired it.
Aside from a small retail lot, the company sells through dealerships
in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi. Wilson
says Louisiana and Tennessee are on the horizon as well.
