“...we tried to offer online onboarding but
the technology then just wasn’t able to keep
up. Now, everything works fine. Just about
anyone can Zoom.”
Bennett DriveAway has been the transport company that
dealers count on since 1986.
“We are the people who deliver trailers,” exclaimed Bob Leedy,
business development manager at Bennett DriveAway.
In spite of the coronavirus, Bennett DriveAway recently
expanded its fleet and continues to hire professional contractors.
To accommodate social distancing and ensure that the company’s
drivers stay safe, Bennett DriveAway has implemented a virtual
onboarding system.
“Several years ago we tried to offer online onboarding but the
technology then just wasn’t able to keep up. Now, everything
works fine. Just about anyone can Zoom,” mentioned Leedy.
Adjusting its business practices during the pandemic was not only
a necessity but also gave Bennett DriveAway the opportunity
to streamline processes. Offering a new way of onboarding for
independent contractors has given the company an advantage
when it comes to keeping up with industry demands in real-time.
“Online onboarding cuts down a lot of the expense and time for
the people we’re contracting, as well as the company,” shared
Leedy. “Now, we can bring on ten to fifteen new contractors in
the same session rather than just one or two people in person.”
