Abstract
Abstract
The American Institute of Architects Continuing
Education System consists of review elements and
components of fire doors to better understand the
resources, requirements, standards, and codes as they
relate to Fire and Life Safety in the development of a
Hardware Specification.
Like the sturdy narra tree, architectural education in
Bicolandia has withstodd the test of time, to which the city
of Naga, the commercial and educational capital of Bicol
Region, derived its name. Ironically, the then four-year
BS Architecture course gathered momentum only in the
early 1980s to 90s in Legazpi-based Aquinas University,
where its first batch of twenty five graduates have
increased almost twenty five-fold after thirty years. The
professional architect instructors from this Dominicanrun religious school were highly instrumental to the
emergence of separate higher educational institutions
(HEI) for architecture. Moreover, because of unflinching
dedication, the then original two UAP mother chapters –
namely Legazpi and Camarines-Naga, have significantly
tripled. Galvanizing fellow professionals’ commitment
in safeguarding the primacy of architectural mentorship
and profession, by making it distinctly autonomous from
engineering fields, up to now, still remains a tall order for
architectural courses in Bicol-based HEIs.
