Greetings!
My congratulations and best wishes to the officers led by
National President Rozanno Rosal and convention organizers led
by Convention Director Antonio Valdez of the United Architects
of the Philippines (UAP) on its 40th National Convention on
9-12 April 2014 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia,
Seaside Lane, Pasay City.
The theme “O.N.E.: Organization-movers. Nation-builders.
Earth-keepers.” is very significant and timely as we face a lot
of challenges in our midst. The architects of the world are one
in promoting architecture for a sustainable future as well as
our individual and collective responsibilities to society, to our
profession and to the environment. With this theme, UAP, together
with the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture (PRBoA)
also become the prime movers on how to best face and prepare
for the opening up of the “cross border practice” in the Asean
region come 2015. With this in mind, the UAP maintains its
commitment to the professionals that they secure personal and
continuous development of skills, knowledge and be equipped
with the latest technology on architecture and architecture practice
through its Continuing Professional Development Programs.
I welcome my Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA)
and Union Internationle des Arch itectes (UIA) colleagues and most
especially our UAP Honorary Fellows for gracing once again our
National Convention. Your presence made our 40th anniversary
convention truly significant and memorable.
Lastly, I thank the College of Fellows (COF) and its Jury of
Fellows and the UAP National Board for bestowing the Likha Gold
Medal Award to me, making this 40th National Convention very
important and meaningful occasion.
Together with my husband Romulo, our children Beng and Sonny,
Roanna and Joel, Rommel and Abi and our grandchildren Sabina,
Louise, Jillian, Mikael and Yra, our utmost gratitude to the institution
I so dearly love.
Thank you all.
Mabuhay!
