Tae Yong Yoo, kia, uia Ar. Tae Yong Yoo graduated in 1981 from Han-Yang University in Seoul, Korea with a degree in Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture. While working, Ar. Tae continued to pursue his studies and secure his degree in Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985. From 1986 to 1989, he was the Project Designer for Field/Paoli Architects, San Francisco, US and then worked with the Chang-Jo Architects, Seoul, Korea for ten (10) years (1989-1999). From then on until the present, Ar. Tae is the principal in the TehJe Architects, Inc., Seoul, Korea. Ar. Tae was awarded honors by the Duke of Edinburgh Fellowship, Cambridge University in UK in 2004. He also was Director of the Korea Institute of Architects from 2004 to 2005, and has been an Honorary Council Member of the same institute from 2009 to present. ROY A. VILLAROSA, uap SEMINAR SPEAKERS He joined the SAC International, Ltd. in 1981 to 1982, Norris M. Gaddis & Associates, Oakland, US from 1984 to 1985 and the Bull, Volkmann & Stockwell, San Francisco, US from 1985 to 1986, all as Junior Architect. An alumnus of University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture in 1983, Ar. Roy A. Villarosa has over 30 years of extensive technical experience in designing numerous residential, commercial and hotel projects. He was involved in the design of the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, the first 5-star hotel to be built after the EDSA Revolution of 1986. He designed the exclusive Hamilo Pico de Loro Beach Club and Sports & Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas, the first Premium Beachfront Community Development of SM Development Corporation. He was also involved in the design of the current tallest residential structure in the Philippines, The 72 storey Gramercy Residences in Century City, Makati. Ar. Villarosa believes in and supports sustainable environmental design and in May 2012, he became a Certified Berde Professional as accredited by the Philippine Green Building Council. Ar. Villarosa has numerous Professional Trainings and Seminars on Fire Safety and Fire Protection Standards per NFPA Codes. He also had Technical Orientations on European Norms and Fire Safety Regulations conducted in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and England in 1996 including additional orientations in Malaysia and Singapore in 1997. Working in collaboration with other international architects for various local projects, Ar. Villarosa’s inputs on Fire Safety Standards has been an invaluable asset and integral part of the design of their projects. 65
