Arch. Jonathan Manalad has an extensive professional practice both as an
architect and academician that spans to twenty years, from 1994 to present. He
holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture, major in Community Architecture and minor
in Housing from the University of the Philippines. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree
in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas in 1993 within which, he had
been sent as an international exchange student to the University of Greenwich in
Kent, England that exposed him to British-based architecture curriculum and brought
him to key cities in Europe and explored its major built environment wonders. His
early exposures to international design practices has been his tool to be an effective
design practitioner and academician.
From 2000 up to present, he is actively involved as Assistant Professor at the
University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture where he is currently serving as the
Architectural Design Coordinator. His position calls for him to conceptualize programs
within the department and oversee its implementation to provide effective delivery
of the Design courses all in its five levels (1st year to 5th year), which is considered
to be the backbone of the Program.
As an architect and environmental planner, he heads an independent architectural
firm J.V. Manalad Design, Planning and Construction. His project involvement ranges
from commercial, institutional, academic and residential undertakings. Currently,
he is heavily involved with major academic institutions in their redevelopment and
modernization efforts as its architect and design consultant.

Ar. Ana S. Mangalino Ling’s love for Architecture can best be exemplified by her belief
that architecture nurtures and the ability to create excellent architectural masterpiece equates
to fulfillment of life, to offer inspiration and to leave behind legacies for the future generation.
Thus, during her term as National President of the United Architects of the Philippines,
nurturing emerging architects thru continuing professional education and establishing linkages
with government agencies became her top priorities, benchmarking UAP as the center for
professional development for architecture and allied professions for students, graduates of
architecture, architects and allied professional, sustaining the profession, the professional, the
professional product and the professional organization.
As a founding partner in Jose Siao Ling and Associates, she inculcates moral values and
interpersonal skills, which for her is as equally necessary as architectural proficiency and strong
design sense, in the esteemed development of an Architect.
She is a graduate of Post Baccalaureate course in Real Estate Management from De La
Salle College of St. Benilde in 2006 and Property Management from De La Salle Graduate School
of Business in 2007. She is a certified in Heritage Building Conservation, Construction Health
and Safety, Hospital Planning, Green Building Design Professional, Green Building Assessor and
Fire and Life Safety. She is a Licensed Landscape Architect and Licensed Environmental Planner.
She served as Honorary Treasurer of Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) in 20072009, as Alternate Council Member for Region 4 in Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA )
2012-2014, an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)and currently
the Treasurer for the East Asia Regional Council for Planning and Housing (EAROPH) Philippines.
