Captains Report – August 2023
Dear Nomads
August monthly game was held at Amanzimtoti Country Club , I had the pleasure of playing with Mike Halse the captain of Toti golf club , Mike Jordan and Ian Brewer . The day started off cold and wet once again but overall , some good golf was played by all at stages of the day . Well played gentleman and thanks for a great day .
I had the pleasure of handing out a 15-year tie to a good friend of mine and a past captain John Elliott and inducting Eric Mzileni , proposed by Terry Young , and seconded by Bongani Mdletshe . Eric , I hope you have many years of good health and golf with the Natal Nomads Golf Club .
We had a total of 70 players - 1 prospective member , Fabian Durocher-Yvon and 7 guests .
Thanks Mike Halse ( Amanzimtoti Club Captain ) and your committee for hosting us , the golf course was in fantastic condition although there was a bit of confusion for some as to what hole they were starting at and how to score their card .
For some reason there was a cockup with the scores and the prize sheet and for this I apologize , we will sort it out and all the rightful winners will receive their prizes that are due to them . Average score for the day 29.6 The division winners were : A Div = Tom Barff 37 pts B Div = Andre Cornelius 37 pts C Div = Mike Jordan 36 pts Most golf went to Sean Phillips with 19 pts of Hcp of 6 Well done gentlemen .
The 60 th anniversary over the weekend of the 29 th of September is fully subscribed and thank you Chad and your committee for all the hard work It is certain to be a fantastic weekend at Selborne Golf estate .
The Joker draw was won by Spike Thiart , thanks for the drinks , Spike and please spend the cash wisely .
