Captains Report – 60 TH Anniversary Game
Dear Nomads Captains Report – September 2023
Dear Nomads
The September monthly game was held at Selborne Hotel and Golf Resort . I had the pleasure of playing with the National Chairman , Graham Bishop , National Senior Vice Chairman Peter Runkel and Chad Walters , our 60 th Anniversary Co Ordinator . Some great golf was played by all of us at some stages of the day , well played gentleman , and thanks for a great day . All I can say if you were not at the 60 th Anniversary , you missed out , not only on a fantastic golf course but a very well-run tournament , Thanks Chad .
The 128 th NMM was held on Friday the 29 of September 2023 at Selborne Golf Estate and all the proposed constitutional changes were passed . The updated rules of play and Constitution are available on Samson & Samson mobile . Thanks Graham , for a very slick and well-run meeting .
We had a total of 144 players- 54 Natal Nomads , 83 Visiting Nomads , 3 Prospective Members , and 4 guests . I would have liked to have seen more Natal Nomads , but I do understand traveling has become a bit of a problem for some members .
I would like to thank Selborne Golf Estate , Captain Kevin Mcintosh and your committee for allowing us to utilise your fantastic golf course and facilities , especially on club day Saturday .
Average score for the day 29 . The division winners were : A Div = Werner Pieterse 35 pts B Div = Brian Venter 42 pts C Div = Theo Enechi 33 pts Most golf went to Joseph Machokoto ( Botswana ) with 18 pts of Hcp of 5 Well done gentlemen .
The 60 th anniversary has now come and gone and all I can do is thank Chad and his committee for all the hard work put in to ensure it was a fantastic weekend at Selborne Golf Estate . I was very privileged and proud to be the Captain of Natal Nomads for the 60 th Anniversary . Chad , you made it feel like a National Tournament and I think the other clubs will certainly have to up their game to beat that weekend , once again I cannot thank you enough , THANKS CHAD .
To John Ridl and Scott Kemp from Selborne Hotel and Spa , thank you and your staff for the great service and hospitality throughout the weekend , there were a few challenges along the way , but for the most they we sorted out very professionally .
The Joker draw was won by Darren Young of Zambia he pocked R5000.00 , well done Darren .
Glenbrynth Single Malt went to Tony Bolt , our oldest serving Nomad at Natal of 53 year . Thanks Tony for your continued support and sponsorship .
The Glenbrynth 12-year-old could only go to one Nomad , Chad Walters you really made Natal Nomads shine bright like a diamond . Thanks Chad you deserve a well-earned rest .
