Captains Report – January 2021 Mount Edgecombe Country Club , Course 1 , The Woods – 21 January 2021 Dear Nomads
Welcome to 2021 and my wish to you is “ May ALL your wishes come true ”
Our first game of 2021 was somewhat once again different to the “ new normal ” we had just started getting familiar with . Electronic Fund Transfers – No Registration – No whiskey and milk – No Joker draw – No triple draw – No starters – No Showers – No number 1 ’ s - No prize giving and not even a catch up after the game …….. It was a tough decision to go ahead with the game or cancel it as many other Nomads clubs have done BUT watching from on the course … the COMRADARIE was solidly in place and I am so grateful that the decision to play was made .
I have received many calls these past weeks from Nomads with you understanding the difficult circumstances we are faced with and words of encouragement - thank you all for the kind words and inspiration to continue this demanding journey .
Amongst the general demands we were also faced with three tragedies already this year ; -
My deepest heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of these fine men :
RIP RIP RIP
Phil Hodgson ( 1956-2021 ) - Nevin Davidson ( 1974 – 2021 ) - Allan Dawson ( 1947- 2021 )
No Man is an island …….

It has been a very wet summer and special care needs to be taken as to not damage any of our courses . Please also be patient with golf course marshals as they are just trying to keep their courses in the best possible condition for all of us to enjoy .
A special word of thanks goes out to Mark Ward Able for his commitment and hard work with FOG .
Thanks Mark , appreciate all your efforts .
