Captains Report – November 2021 Cato Ridge Golf Course – 18 November 2021 Dear Nomads
Cato Ridge , Cato Fridge , Cato Rock …… call it what you like but what amazing condition the golf course is in . Well done to the new green ’ s keeper , our one and only “ Wobbles ” – Mark Ward Able . Hope you also enjoy the gardening equipment Nomads sponsored the club and you go from strength to strength .
It was my privilege playing with the Cato Ridge Golf Club Captain , Rob Ferguson as well as our esteemed Andrew Mentis Nomads Foundation Director , Vic Hall and Darrell De Jager , our newbie Natal Member transferring from Gauteng . Awesome game guys and no money changed hands although it looked promising at some stages .
A big shout out to all our visiting Nomads that supported us on the day ; Robbie Frank , Brian Algar Mike Fick and Vic Hall from Easterns ; Lwazi Dhlomo , Mike Cromhout and Kevin Pistorius from Southern Natal . Thank you to the following guests and hope you enjoyed the day and hope to see you all soon : Preston Khomo with Chris Meyiwa , Daniel Heaphy with Aryn Geekie , Grant Mountjoy with Pieter Neethling , Noel Bradley with Kevin Moody , Mike Clark with Neil Cairns , Dalan Hall with John Elliott and our guest from our host club , Louvain Schnuir and Charl Delport – Chairperson of Cato Ridge Golf Club .
A special mention goes to Gavin Brown – 15-year tie and Dave Watterson – 5-year tie . Congratulations guys and see you guys for another 50 years . ☺
We welcome Mthoko Mtshali to Natal Nomads being inducted at the Cato Ridge game , proposed by Chris Meyiwa and seconded by Stephen Frizelle . It was great to meet you and wish you a long and rewarding time at Natal Nomads .
Thank you for a very subdued fines session from the loud John Elliot due to him losing his voice but still had me in stitches ... Also , more fund raising was brought about with a very confusing but enriching auction being held with both Vic Hall and Robbie Frank donating their prizes back . Really appreciate it guys . A big thank you to Pieter Neethling from Mooi One Stop Biltong and Butchery for donating packs of biltong to every player . Best biltong I have tasted in years .
Unfortunately , no Joker was found by either Mike Hayes or Maurice Chelin but the pot goes up and good luck to all at our next Joker draw .
I look forward to seeing you all at our GOLD CUP game on Friday , 10 th December 2021 at Durban Country Club .
Yours in Nomads
