National tournament feedback :
The national tournament planning is moving along steadily , with the focus on concluding the completion of accommodation on offer at competitive rates . Early planning of the lady ’ s tours is underway . An electronic scoring system for the tournament is being investigated
Composite league feedback :
Durban country club have indicated their willingness to be the host club for Natal Nomad ’ s composite league
General There was confusion recently when a player was penalized 2 shots on his scorecard , when entering the score on SAMSON . The issue was clarified with the member , as being correct , and automatically instituted by SAMSON to all members , the penalty is implemented to a player not having played his last 4 games in succession . The penalty can be overridden for members who medical credits or at the discretion of the committee .
The current annual LANGHAM EDWARDS TROPHY and DRAKENSBURG GARDENS CUP ( 10 & 11 July ) is being closely monitored by Vice- Captain Johann Bothma , it is currently still being played and members are asked to support this annual event . Preparation for the Andrew Mentis golf day ( 5 November ) is underway and the committee urges members to support the event and use this as an opportunity to enter a 4 ball with non-nomads , to enjoy our nomad ’ s tradition and culture .
The photography portfolio is still vacant , and the committee is hopeful that this position will be filled soonest , any member interested to contact a committee member . In the interim the committee would like to thank Alex for taking last month ’ s pics .
A new application was received by proposer CHRIS MEYIWA for Mthoko Mtshali , and proposer Ian Brewer for Marnus Steenkamp .
The committee once again urges the participation of new local sponsors , offering an opportunity to advertise in the Nomads Newsletter , Nomads website , NATAL NOMADS monthly golf event and possibly NATAL NOMADS NATIONALS 2022 event .
Medical credit – Geoff Bell ’ s Back problems continue to affect his mobility and is unable to play golf until further notice Andre Conradie - shoulder injury setback 2-3 months Lungisani Majola – still recovering from recent highjack shooting Blake Shepherd – lower back injury , undetermined length of time
