3 . MONTHLY GAMES In 2020 Natal had an average of 64.3 players per game ( 9 months - 3 months cancelled due to Covid ), and the current average during 2021 YTD has been 77 . This increase in average members for 2021 is due to the fact that we have been pushing hard to increase visitors to introduce them to Nomads in the hope of increasing membership . So far this year we have manged to welcome on average 8 guests per game . We are trying to increase our monthly game numbers by sending a notice to the clubs we play at to display on their notice boards and inviting their Members to join us for our Monthly game as well as reminding all current Nomads to bring along a friend .
4 . FINANCES I am pleased to report that the club is in a satisfactory financial position , and we are running at a small deficit for the YTD . This is particularly pleasing as we kept our monthly game fee unchanged this year to try and alleviate financial pressures on our members . We have been proactive in renegotiating the playing fees at all of the clubs we play .
Tony Graham continues to be great for the club as treasurer with his reporting strategy and makes it easy to understand and follow the financials to even the not so figure minded members . Tony managed to prepare the financials in great time and proud to report that Natal was the first club to submit through to NATEX .
The Joker Draw continues to be a success in raising additional finances for the Club as well as increasing the excitement level at prize giving as the pot keeps getting bigger even though we paid out on April 2021 .
5 . HANDICAPPING Garth Enslin continues to do an excellent job as our Handicapper and Membership Officer , compiling statistics and providing answers to membership queries accurately and quickly .
6 . PRO : SPONSORSHIP & MARKETING Unfortunately , Marc Feher has resigned as a Nomad and therefore created a hole in this portfolio . Ross Alleson served us in the Sponsorship portfolio for a number of years before Marc took over and has recommitted to fulfil this position . A big thank you to you Ross . We understand that it is not an easy job especially in this climate and as you know we have lost a number of local sponsors especially from the hospitality industry .
7 . WEBSITE & NEWSLETTER ( BELLSHEET ) Arnold Neveling continues to put in a lot of effort with our Monthly Newsletter , and the transition to an e-mag has been very successful and is now running smoothly . He takes great pride in ensuring that our members are kept up to date with current events and has been working closely with the various other portfolios to ensure that the information that is shared to the members adds value . He has managed the revamp to our website and continues to think of ways to improve . Thank you , Arnie , for all your effort put into this venture .
8 . FURTHERANCE OF GOLF Mark Ward-Able fills the position of FOG and has been liaising closely with KZN Junior Golf and has quickly come up to speed with this portfolio . Thank you , Mark .
