Captains Report – April 2021 Umhlali Country Club – 15 April 2021 Dear Nomads
Before Tee off , I could feel the tension and excitement in the air with the start of the Gary Player first round . Along with the fantastic weather , awesome greens and competitive aroma some good scores were posted , well done to all the winners as well as those that won their GP . Don ’ t sweat if you lost your GP ; you are still in the draw and have the opportunity to still win the PLATE .
We bid farewell to Werner Pieterse ( Clothing ) from the committee and thank him for the years of service ; Werner needs to focus on his business but remains a paid-up member of Natal Nomads . We wish you all the best .
Welcome to Aryn Geekie who has graciously agreed to step into the clothing portfolio and I have every belief that Aryn will do an amazing job . Welcome Aryn .
A goodbye to Brand van Niekerk who has decided to step down as JVC . He is under work pressure and has indicated that he cannot devote the time and attention to the JVC portfolio .
CONGRATULATIONS to Geoff Henebrey whose name was drawn for the JOKER Draw . Unfortunately , Geoff was not present at prize giving , so the Captain of Natal Nomads has the unfortunate task of picking the card , and behold it was the JOKER . Geoff walks away with half the pot totalling a sum of R22,855 – Don ’ t spend it wisely Geoff , rather have a joll .
The exciting news for the rest of us is that the JOKER Draw for May ’ s game starts at a whopping : R26,205 .
May ’ s monthly game will see 5 inductees welcomed into Nomads . Well done guys and especially well done to everyone who introduced them to Nomads .
We will be welcoming the following : Neil Cairns ; Henri Van Schalkwyk ; Pieter Neethling ; Spike Thiart and Robbie Earl . I wish you all a fantastic and enjoyable experience with nomads .
Please be on the lookout for the upcoming Langham Edward and Drakensburg Trophies Entry Form being played between Natal , Southern Natal and Gauteng Nomads on the 10 th and 11 th July 2021 being played at Cotswold Downs and Durban Country Club . Entries will be email out shortly .
