GARY PLAYER KNOCKOUT COMPETITION 2019
You are hereby invited to participate in the above competition and experience the wonderful camaraderie that exists in our Club. These competitions are open to all Full
Members and it is an opportunity which should not be missed especially by new members. Individual entries will be accepted and playing partners can be arranged by the
arbitrator. The closing date for entries is 28 February 2019
Each round of both the Gary Player Knockout/Plate Knockout Competition has to be played on or before the following completion dates which
coincide with monthly meetings.

Once a pairing has been arranged and entered, no substitute of partners is permitted if the pair has actually played a competitive round. Only entries from
members in good standing will be accepted.
The first drawn pair shall enjoy choice of venue for the match to be played providing such arrangements are made prior to the contact date published in the
schedule above. They shall give the opponents AT LEAST 3 DATES, 2 OF WHICH SHALL BE ON WEEKENDS and the venue shall be included in the Club roster. Once a
date has been chosen it can only be changed by mutual consent. The second drawn pair shall make the necessary arrangements for the match and choice of venue
should the first drawn pair not have done so by the contact date.
By mutual consent the GP game may be played at a monthly meeting so long as the match secretary is notified at least 14 days prior to that meeting, so that the
four ball may be included in the draw.
The semi-finals and finals will be played at the respective October and December meetings unless exceptional circumstances are accepted by the arbitrator for
dispensation.
Notwithstanding the above the semi-finals and finals will be played at the venues of the October and December meetings
Game results not reported to the match secretary by at latest the day following the completion date will be awarded to the second drawn pair. (Subject to possible
review by the arbitrator) There shall be NO extensions of time beyond the completion date. The winning pair is responsible for reporting the result to Helen (Tel:

A player will be disqualified from the competition as soon as it becomes apparent that he cannot fulfill his Nomads playing commitment of six games during the
year, or is otherwise in default
Player’s handicaps for the competition round will be published with the draw. These handicaps shall apply for the round no matter when it is played, subject to a
player’s club handicap being the maximum handicap that may be applied.
Partners shall be at liberty to render assistance to one another at all times, other than if playing in a monthly game.Any other rules are covered under Section 15 of
the RULES OF PLAY.
The success and enjoyment of this tournament is determined by all participants. Please arrange the games timeously with your opponents and encourage
goodwill. It may also be a good idea to share the cost of the green fees equally amongst the four players.
Most of the clubs at which we play our monthly games, have agreed to charge Nomads playing their Gary Player Knockout or Plate events members’ rates.
Please confirm this when making your booking at the various clubs.
