'No man is an island entire of itself; Every man is a piece
of the continent, a part of the main; Any man's death
diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; And
therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It
tolls for thee.'

The day before our game I had visions of sending out a broadcast Whatsapp message
saying the course was too water logged to play and that the game would be called off.
Fortunately for the 2 nd time this year I was spared doing this as RDGC was still very
playable, albeit for a few puddles. The A Division scores alone indicate this, with two 39
Pointer and two 38 Pointers in the division. I had a most enjoyable round with Tim Scott, the
VC of Royal, Mike Jordan, Club Manager of Royal and the distinguished Tony Bolt. Thank
you very much gents and keep up the great work at Royal Durban, it is always a pleasure
playing there.
Prize giving was a slick affair, thanks very much to Tom Barff, Jayne Van Rensburg and Ian
Brewer for your input and welcome back Steve McClelland. Phil Hodgson’s “trip down
memory lane” fines session was a superb effort and kept the audience guessing. I would
also like to thank Mike Jordan once again for his very generous donation of curry and rice
for everyone after the game, this has become a firm favourite at RDGC.
