NATAL NOMADS
THE CLUB SYMBOL
www.natalnomads.co.za
Our Club badge, a bell crossed by a golf club, is symbolic of
the raison d'être of the 'NOMADS' - through golf, the
remembrance of others.
It is printed in the renowned extract from the Meditations
of John Donne (1573-1631):
CAPTAINS REPORT
'No man is an island entire of itself; Every man is a piece
of the continent, a part of the main; Any man's death
diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; And
therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It
tolls for thee.'
Dear Nomads
Kloof Country Club seldom disappoints and as I said in my address at prize giving it is
obviously a firm favourite amongst Natal Nomads. I had the pleasure of being joined by
Mr. Bob Dye, the Kloof Country Club Captain, for the day. Bob’s passion for Kloof CC was
clearly evident and I really enjoyed being shown all the improvements already put in place
as well as their plans for the future. Congratulations to Bob and his team on a very well-
run Club.
There were a number of Special Awards this month. 10 Year Ties for Steve Cullen and Des
Rode, 15 Year Ties for Tony Jackson and Basil Thomas, 20 Year Ties for Daryl François and
Bruce Mungle and a 30 Year for Richard Anderson. Rob Pringle was awarded a 300 Game
Badge.
Craig Davidson and Ryan Ferreira were the first 2 Nomads I got to induct into Natal
Nomads as Captain. Welcome Gents and we hope your time with us is a long and
enjoyable one. On this note, it is most pleasing to see the number of guests we have
playing in our games recently, hopefully we can get our numbers to swell even more in the
coming months.
