The Chelan County Historical Society, a nonprofit organization, was established the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village in 1955 with the help of local collector Willis Carey to preserve his renowned collection of Native American artifacts, antiques, and historical relics, and community leaders like John McDonald. The Museum was incorporated in 1956, opened in 1959, and grew to include the Pioneer Village in 1967. It now features 20 original structures such as a blacksmith shop, a Great Northern Railway caboose, and a one-room schoolhouse. Over the

years, it has expanded to a 13,000-square-foot facility housing Native American artifacts, Pioneer objects, geological specimens, and ornithological displays. We are open to visits by appointment in our off season.
