Located on the Historic Georgetown Square, the Williamson Museum was founded as a 501(c)(3) in 1997, and first opened its doors to the 1911 Farmers State Bank in December 2003. The museum’s mission is to promote the culture and heritage of Williamson County through education, preservation, acquisition, and exhibition.
Visit the museum to observe and learn about the local history of Williamson County, which often expands past its border and is at the root of Texas history.

The Martinsville-Henry County Heritage Museum displays significant Native American artifacts; Evolution of guns from the matchlock to the cartridge gun; Evolution of the Henry rifle to the Winchester 1876; toys: Marklin trains and accessories, steam engines, boats, other German toys, American toy trucks; a representation of everything Lionel made from 1901 to World War II; early American train- train-maker; and much, much more.
1500 to 1840; George Catlin lithographs; special collection of blades & barrels; defense canes and multi-purpose canes; Virginia City, Nevada, gambling parlor setup: Suicide Table, Wheel of Fortune and the Dead Man’s Hand; riverboat gambling kits; early watches and an early Bowie-style knife collection, in its 13,000-square-foot annex scheduled to open in late fall 2024. The former Henry County, Virgina, courthouse, opened as a museum in 2011, showcases local history.
