Since 1970, the South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings has been a destination for people from around the world to enjoy the artistic legacy of South Dakota in all its diversity. Seven galleries feature 15-17 new exhibits every year featuring a wide variety of artworks and themes, many with ties to South Dakota and others that bring international perspectives.

Chattanooga, Tennessee is credited as the birthplace of the tow truck thanks to inventor Ernest Holmes Sr. Holmes and his son Ernest Holmes Jr. who would go on to establish a major towing manufacturer named the Ernest Holmes Company. The International Towing & Recovery Museum is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the towing industry. The Museum is home to The Wall of the Fallen in honor of men and women who had lost their lives in the line of service, a replica of the first tow truck, the world’s fastest tow truck, and more.
Exhibitions are curated from the museum’s extensive collection of Harvey Dunn and Paul Goble, Native American art, Marghab Linens, fine art posters from the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s in the Cockerline Collection, as well as from the museum’s wide connections to emerging and internationally known artists and traveling exhibitions.

The Hanover Area Historical Society’s mission is to protect and promote the historical heritage of the greater Hanover area.
In 1974 the Society purchased and restored the Neas House. In October, 2007 the Society was given the Warehime-Myers Mansion at 305 Baltimore Street.
