Arts & Education at the Hoyt is a regional art center and museum located in two historic 1917 mansions connected by a glass enclosed walkway. Designed by architect Frank Faulke, the former home of Alex Crawford Hoyt (c. 1917) boasts many of the acutrements of New Castle’s “golden age”. Leaded glass

windows, elaborate wood work, and silk wall coverings attest to the wealth of the city and a

prosperous American people at the turn of the century. Other novelties of this 12,500 sq. ft.

Tudor Revival include an early central vacuuming system, 1900′s clothes dryer, and coal

cellar still full of coal! Guests can view the museum’s historic collection of art and

antiquities while taking in the architecture with guided tours.
