Stations of the Tokaido

Organized by the Reading Public Museum in Reading, PA, this outstanding touring exhibition features 55 revolutionary wood-block prints by Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858), recording the scenic views along the famous "Eastern Road” that linked Edo (now Tokyo) with Kyoto, the ancient imperial capital of Japan.

The Shakers: Decoding an Identity

Objects can tell a story if you look closely enough, and know what to look for. This exhibit explores the innovative designs of the Shakers and educates viewers about details that can illuminate the culture of one of America’s longest-lived communal societies. Topics include self-sufficiency, materials, and function among others.
