The Heurich House Museum exists in the late-19th century Dupont Circle mansion, carriage house, and grounds built for German-American immigrant Christian Heurich, whose brewery was the largest in D.C. and a household name.

Today, the Museum explores the American Experience through the stories surrounding Christian Heurich and his brewery, and creates an equitable path to success for local small-scale artisans, makers, and craftspeople. Our historic interpretation focuses on people whose voices have previously been muted - household staff who were often people of color, craftspeople and artists who decorated Heurich’s home, immigrant brewery workers, and women in the family.
