Along the Yangzi River: Regional Culture of the Bronze Age from Hunan
Presented by China Institute
The great Bronze Age culture which first arose in China’s Central Plain spread southward into the middle Yangzi valley beginning around the 14th century BCE. This exhibition provides a window into the cultural diversity of an ancient civilization, one in which regional bronze traditions were tied together by the same technology of piece-mold casting. By presenting more than seventy technically sophisticated Chinese bronzes, it revealed the fascinating story of this region.
