The National Public Housing Museum (NPHM), incorporated in 2007, is the first U.S. cultural institution dedicated to the American public housing experience. Our mission is to preserve, promote, and propel the right to housing for all. NPHM uses art, historic artifacts, and oral histories to make housing issues understandable and actionable. We engage diverse voices to challenge discrimination and envision equitable futures. Located in the last remaining building of Chicago’s historic Jane Addams Homes, NPHM is transforming it into a cultural hub, with completion set for mid-2024.
