Hey Everyone!
I hope all is well in your part of the country! Aside from getting ready for summer, I am nearing the end of my classes for the semester and preparing for my last summer before graduation. In the past few months, the junior board has been working extremely hard getting ready for an amazing junior nationals in Perry, Georgia!
Last April the junior board had the opportunity to attend the Youth Beef Industry Congress in Denver, Colorado. This was an amazing chance for us to interact with junior board members from multiple breed associations and grow our leadership abilities.
As we all begin our preparations for regional and state shows or junior nationals, I want to give you a couple things to think about on the road to Perry. Take advantage of every opportunity.
Now that I’ m nearing the end of my time as a junior member, I wish that I said yes to more things. Be involved in everything you can while you have the opportunity, growing up I never understood why everyone told me this, but now it all makes sense. Time flies by and if you are not taking advantage of these opportunities, you could regret it in your future.
Try to meet new people! The best part about being at a junior nationals is being surrounded by so many people from all parts of the country, whether this is your first junior nationals or your last, try to go out of your way to introduce yourself to someone you may not know. Who knows, they may just turn into your new friend!
Everyone has their own goal for this junior nationals, no matter if it’ s to win showmanship, bring home a banner, win sweepstakes or just have fun while doing something you enjoy, make sure you put the work in to achieve that goal. Find your passion and work towards it!
As school winds down and the warm weather rolls in we are inching closer to the“ Limi Luau” in Georgia. Remember, you only get out of it what you put in. The junior board is looking forward to a fun filled week in Perry!
