Phyllis Dixon
Ms. Dixon is the author of two novels, Down Home Blues and Forty Acres, and Let the Brother
Go If… which she co-wrote with Ms. Dupree, formerly of the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning
Show. She is a contributing author to Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul,
and the Tri-State Defender. After a thirty-year career in finance, she remains interested in
banking and involved in financial literacy activities. When not reading or writing, she enjoys
football, history, and cruising. She resides in Memphis, Tennessee and is a proud member of
