The other concept that rippled through the storyline was the one of not leaving
anyone behind. It began with the scene with the king’s brother, continued with
kidnapped women in where Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) saved a young man who held a
gun against Black Panther. The young man himself had been kidnapped and forced to
fight. This concept of reaching down and pulling up continued to enhance the script
until the last scene. It underscored the decision that we must all make as citizens of
the world on how we approach our responsibility to exist and co-exist within the
communities we claim, regardless of whether or not the world has been kind or just.
