“Grandma’s Hands”, a song I heard growing
up, spoke of and the many things that she
did to make the lives of those around her a
better experience. A good majority of the
articles in this Mother’s Day issue centers
around wisdom and lessons learned from
mothers, grandmothers, aunties and other
women who have had a major impact on
our featured writers. The image on the
magazine cover, designed by my son,
was his depiction of what Motherhood
means to him—a woman who is a vessel
for bringing life and a soul experience to
the world.
A year ago when I first had the idea for
this magazine, I didn’t realize how much
it would bless me, and the authors who
write their truth, personally. Some have
said it has been a healing journey, others
have shared things that they swore they
wouldn’t tell a soul. One thing the authors
have in common with me, is that we all
want to give you a glimpse into who we
are; a taste of what drives us and makes us
want to put pen to paper.
At the end of the magazine, I welcome
you to enjoy the thirteen excerpts of
new books coming out this year that are
penned by a group that is aptly named,
NK Promo Partners. They are committed
to bringing you the best in fiction.
Happy Mother’s Day to one and all. We
celebrate those who have given birth,
those who have been surrogates in some
fashion, and others who have stepped in
to fill that maternal void in a child’s life
when it is sorely needed.
