Africa are inscribed in my eyes, filtering my image of myself. Sometimes these lessons
get buried in the minutia of everyday and the influences thrown at me constantly by
the world in which I live. However, my lessons can’t stay submerged. They rise like a
river after a hard rain--and they are as formidable as I am.
Obstacles are a part of l ife. But guess what? So is success. You and I don’t need
anyone’s permission to be great. We just need to continually tap into the heritage that
lies deep within. The heritage exemplified by the great kings and queens of Africa and
my mom--and quite possibly your mother as well.
I don’t need anyone to tell me who I am. My mother already told me.
I. Am. Royalty.
And if you think about it … so are you.
