Two pages aren ’ t enough to express my love and admiration for this woman right here . I met her at Book Expo America when The Bitten first released . I fell in love with her “ Philly Girl ” personality which flowed into her skillfullycrafted and dynamic prose . Only five authors I ’ ve encountered in my life had one book which practically compelled me to buy every single thing they had written right after I closed the page . Octavia Butler ( Mind of My Mind ), Tananarive Due ( My Soul to Keep ), Jayne Castle ( Obsidian Prey ), N . K . Jemison ( The Shadowed Sun ), and newcomer Cerece Rennie Murphy ( To Find You ). Leslie definitely fell into this group .

One little known fact is that Leslie also wrote the prequel to Scar Face , the famous Al Pacino movie . Yes , she was that good and then some . Her body of work nearly put me in the poor house as it spanned a range of genres and pen names :
