Luvvie Ajayi
Review by Portia A . Cosby books by Portia Cosby
I ’ m Judging You is a hilarious , intelligent , honest , and witty rant about all things random . ( Of course , this is right up my alley .) Whether it ’ s pop culture , rape culture , racism , or oversharing on social media , Luvvie leaves no topic uncovered . She stays true to herself in every sentence , using the most appropriate and humorous adjectives , a bit of alliteration , and her famous “ Luvvie-speak ” which make this an easy and refreshing read .
One of my favorite chapters is where she tells a story about her friend dating a scrub ( a title of non-working , non-automobile having man coined from the famous TLC song ). I can ’ t tell you how many times I hollered , giggled , and wiped tears from my eyes while reading at the salon . Luvvie penned this gem to read like an effortless conversation between bests friends while sitting in the comfort of a living room while judging the hell out of everything and everyone . It ’ s relatable ; and what I like most is she owns her judge-worthy behavior , too . All I will say is : Never on time and Size 9 shoes . ( Read the book . You ’ ll get it .) And this book isn ’ t one big rant without a purpose . She has brought these topics to our attention in hopes that we all will do better .
I highly recommend this book as it makes a great gift for the college student who can ’ t find a book he / she likes , the coworker you ’ re close to who thinks racism is a thing of the past , pop culture junkies like me , and anyone who is simply looking for a good read . But first , get your copy . Prepare to be informed . Prepare to be entertained . Prepare to be

judged . Most importantly , prepare to do better .
