Now , I ’ m going to ask you , the reader of this article , to move in wisdom . Notice , I said their doctor took them off the meds , right ? That doesn ’ t give you permission to roll off the range and self-diagnose . “ Well , I don ’ t want to take ‘ em any old way . I ’ ll just drink 96 ounces and I ’ m all good .” No ma ’ am and no sir . Notice that I mentioned we originally had 69 members in the group . Well , only four of them were taken off — by their doctors , who had been monitoring their health for years .
What comes to mind though , because of my personal experience , is that if all it took was that amount of water per day to make the difference , then there are a lot of other illnesses and diseases that expand in our systems because we ’ re not drinking enough and our bodies can ’ t produce what it needs to fight or ward off quite a few things . That ’ s telling .
As of the date of this writing , we ’ re on Mermaid Challenge 6 . The goal is still 96 ounces per day , but with each challenge we ’ ve added even more optional components :
Motivational Mondays is where we speak our intentions of what we want to happen in our lives , whether they are physical , mental , spiritual or material goals . The members “ align ” with each other as every intention is asked for the highest and best good for everyone involved .
Hot Tip Tuesdays is where members share natural health tips that can benefit other members .
Vegetarian Wednesday is where members give up meat , seafood , and poultry for a single day . Some members have even transitioned into being full vegetarians from this effort .
No-to-low carb Thursdays is where members strive , just for this day , for low-carb meal counts . Some members have adopted this on a daily basis and have seen even more weight loss .
Forgiveness Fridays is something that was added for Challenge 6 in that every Friday we acknowledge a person ( initials only ) or situation ( if they don ’ t want to say what it is , some just say “ God knows ”) that they are working on forgiving and releasing . At the end of the request , they ask that each member touch and agree on the success of their efforts .
When I started the challenge , I never envisioned that half a year later , I would have consumed more water in a four-week period than I had in an entire two-three years . Yes , I know that ’ s sad , but I ’ m telling my truth here . So many others tend to be like me . Accountability is the key .
