Now that we have kids it’s
even better. Sekou offers
our children a completely
different experience of love
and parenting than I do and our
kids thrive and benefit from the
fact that Mommy is really into
reading and Daddy is really into
sports. My kids run faster and
climb higher because Daddy
lets them do it. My kids know
who Nas and Mae Jemison are
because of who their Dad is.
They are also more confident in
their academics because they
know Daddy is behind them
100%.
The beautiful life we’ve created
for our children and ourselves
could not have been created by
me alone; it takes two people,
two partners committed
of their own free will to do
whatever is necessary to
build this thing we call family.
And now, after experiencing
the wonderful, amazing, and
absolutely awesome Sekou, I
know exactly what a man does.
