gripped the ledge of the window to steady herself. She looked over her shoulder
and found his intense eyes focused on her.
This man really has it bad. But the move had reduced the amount of pregnancies
she would need to go through. She had originally counted the need to have seven
children to make the amount she wanted. With this new development—two more
and she would hit her goal.
She folded her arms across her chest and pressed her back against the wall as she
faced him. “My only requirement is that the baby comes first.”
“Agreed.”
Michelle’s jaw tightened the moment he said the word. She was probably
noticing the huskiness of his voice. Then her lips lifted in something that was
neither smile nor frown. She looked at Gina for a long moment, her expression
closed and unreadable.
For a split second Gina wondered if she had made a major mistake.

his baby daughter, watching as she took nourishment from her biological mother.
Gina looked at him, searching for signs of jealousy that never materialized. She
wondered what he really felt in all of this. But he never rushed her in the process.
Never seemed to get impatient when their baby girl needed a little more each time.
The moment the soft pucker of lips ceased its movements, Michelle approached
the bed and reached for the baby. Gina held up a hand to halt her, allowing the
baby to fall into a restful sleep. Then Michelle took the baby in her arms, looked
down at Gina, and whispered a teary-eyed thank you before she hurried to the door
and closed it behind her. It seemed as though she was afraid Gina would somehow
change her mind even this late in the game.
Sanjay searched Gina’s face as he always did before they began. She tried to
