It was just another layer to add dimension to the characters.
Blink, Texas has a mystical element to it and Marlowe and
her family is as mystical as they come. I felt that adding
the element helped to play up the up the mystery of Plato
and added a feeling of foreboding that I wanted to establish
for him in the story. I wanted to convey a sense of danger
where Plato was concerned.
