Now Christian Fiction has come to the forefront and
covers a range of current issues—family drama, adultery,
prodigal children, drugs and addiction—that people
in all denominations and religions are faced with. In
the Literary Café, we’ve had the privilege of chatting
with some of the top national bestselling authors in
this industry: Kimberla Lawson Roby, Beverly Jenkins,
Pat G’orge Walker, Pat Simmons, and Piper Huguley.
Some use a contemporary fiction format, others
historical fiction, but they make the prose entertaining
and engaging, while still managing to work in that
underlying thread of faith and inspiration.
Later on in life, I fell in love with inspirational and
self-help work by the masters of that genre: Louise L.
Hay, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Lisa Nichols and so
many others.
In this issue of NK LCM, the focus is on both Christian
Fiction and Inspirational authors who have been a
great influence on my life, as well as a hat tip to the wild
side of life with authors such as J. D. Mason, Shakir
Rashaan, and of course, me. All of us tend to write the
kinds of books that will make someone have to repent.
The more (clears throat) risqué part of the magazine
is separated with a disclaimer that says Enter at Your
Own Risk. Some of the subject matter might make you
a little . . . uncomfortable. And that’s all right, too.
