The Changing Face of Entrepreneurship

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Naked, a magazine devoted to the changing face of entrepreneurship. If you look back on the world of business as little as 10 years ago, you'd notice a few things. You would notice a world filled with men and women who believed in playing the game "right". Those who believed that as professionals we should work 8 to 5, wear suits and handle business the "proper" way.

When I became an entrepreneur just 4 short years ago, I too, tried to blend into the "norm" of my industry. As a marketing coach, its customary to dress a certain way and speak a certain "business" language.

I knew that if I didn't want to high tail it back into the work force that I'd have to blend into what I "needed" to be for business.

What I soon discovered is that the more I tried to "blend in" the fewer customers and clients I had. The more I tried to be like everyone else in the industry, the more clients THEY seemed to get.

Out of frustration, I threw my hands up and decided that "their" way wasn't working for me and that I would give it a go doing it my way. I began to go against the industry standard in every way, completely being myself on training calls, dressing the way I desired and making moves that others in the marketing world were not making.

The result? A business full of clients just as sick of the mundane as I was. Clients who wanted to be themselves while making an amazing living!

Since then, I've noticed entrepreneurs in huge amounts attempting to break free of the "industry standard"

Entrepreneurship is no longer, who can do it the best playing the game, but who can do it the best while playing their own game in life and in business.

Naked, was created to showcase just that; how to live life and run business on your terms.
