administrators, with a particular focus on generalist educators and administrators. After building the six initial professional learning sessions in year one of the project, two additional modules have been developed annually, resulting in a total of ten current EL-related professional learning modules by the end of the 2019-20 school year. Once trainings are developed, they are offered first as in-person sessions at several of the RESCs across the state and then as online modules, which can be accessed on-demand. The goal of these sessions is to increase the capacity of school and district professionals to effectively meet the needs of ELs through research-based and effective practices and adherence to federal and state policies. The online modules include the entire contents of the in-person sessions, including the Power Point presentation, a recording of the presentation with a script and notes, and all materials and activities used in the training. This enables districts to access and utilize the materials in a manner that works for their unique contexts, even if staff are unable to attend in-person trainings. By using Title III statewide activities funds, these sessions and modules have been developed, carried out and made accessible online completely free of charge for participants and school districts.

Topics include English Learners in the Inquiry Process, Digging to the Core: Respectful Tasks and Texts for English Learners in Secondary Classrooms, Teaching Oral Language Development & Foundational Reading Skills for English Learners and others. To date, hundreds of educators in a wide range of roles have accessed the in-person trainings and/or online modules, representing the majority of Connecticut’s 205 districts. During this time of remote learning, these modules have proven invaluable!
