Committee Report
The Professional Learning Committee is working to respond to the evolving professional development needs of English Learner/ Multilingual Learner program leaders. Committee members gather monthly in a synchronous web-based meeting to reflect, implement and plan future PD opportunities for our membership.
This summer, our committee members helped plan and deliver a special webinar on Using ESSER Funds To Support ELs. This timely webinar was presented by NAELPA, in collaboration with NAESPA, NABE, Migration Policy Institute, and other organizations.
Our members continue to collaborate with board members on fine-tuning our processes for conducting these webinar learning opportunities.
The 2021-2022 school year promises to be one of continued growth with more innovative collaborations between NAELPA and our partners.

Membership Committee Report
What does it mean to be a member of NAELPA? Being a member of NAELPA means that you are part of an organization that is dedicated to taking action on important issues related to our multilingual learners (MLs)/English learners (ELs). As a member, you are surrounded by a group of diverse, yet like-minded individuals who have a common goal for advancing support for MLs/ELs at the local, state, and national levels. Anyone with an interest in working with and supporting MLs/ELs is welcome to join!
The NAELPA Membership Committee focuses on retention and recruitment of members. The committee is working on new and exciting ways for members to engage with one another and to feel supported within the NAELPA organization.
