HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED PARENT RESOURCE CENTER Giving you the tools to make the toughest job a little easier Active Parents = Successful Students The rewards for getting involved in your child’s school are endless – doing something meaningful, spending time with enjoyable people who care about children, sensing accomplishment, learning a new skill, and recognition for your service are just a few. But, an active parent’s greatest reward is a successful student. TAKE 5 Take 5 minutes every day to talk to your student about these 5 important things: 1. What is your student goal? 2. What did you do today to help achieve your student goal? 3. How did you make character count today? 4. What can you do tomorrow to achieve excellence? 5. Encourage your child in a very specific and genuine way. VOLUNTEER One of the best ways to get involved in your child’s life is to volunteer at school. Whether it is becoming an NISD Room Parent, offering to help with a big project, or volunteering for a one-day specal event, everyone’s contributions help our children to be successful.
