Theatre
Welcome to our Spring Theatre programme. Kicking things off is The Rat Affair who use
exquisite puppetry and projections to present a powerful spectacle of light and sound in a
musical reimagining of The Pied Piper of Hamelin.
We’re also very excited to announce after following two sold-out tours of Chip Shop Chips,
Box of Tricks are back to bring their explosive new pre-apocalyptic comedy,
The Last Quiz Night on Earth, to NAC.
RAT by The Rat Affair
Thu 5th March - 7.30pm (S)
The Rat Affair are proud to present RAT – The Pied Piper of Hamelin
reimagined through live music and shadow puppetry. Amidst a musical
score that shifts between sensationally boisterous Eastern European folk
and sparse reflective piano works, RAT tells the tale of a curious man who
offers to rid a corrupt town in crisis by driving its vermin infestation away.
Admission: £8 Cons: £7
The Last Quiz Night on Earth
Wed 18th March - 7.30pm (S)
It’s the end of the world. The last night on earth. An asteroid is heading
straight for us. Fancy going out with a bang? Landlady Kathy invites you
to the last quiz night on earth with Quizmaster Rav. He’s the host with
the most. But with time ticking, some unexpected guests turn up out of
the blue. Bobby wants to settle old scores and Fran wants one last shot at
love. Expect the unexpected to the bitter end.
Admission: £8 Cons: £7
Juliet & Romeo
Thu 23th April - 7.30pm (S)
With Lost Dog’s blend of dance, theatre and comedy this duet reveals the
real story of Romeo and Juliet. It turns out they didn’t die in a tragic
misunderstanding, they grew up and lived happily ever after. Now they’re
40ish, at least one of them is in the grips of a mid-life crisis.
The Stage *****‘Superb. Devastating realism & dark humour’
Admission: £8 Cons: £7
Venus
Sun 3rd May - 7.30pm (S)
As a child Dan lost a British holiday-camp dance competition. Largely
because he totally misunderstood what competitive dance was, and they
didn’t play his song of choice. Venus by Bananarama. This performance
enacts the version of the event that he would have liked to happen...
