Jab DJab

Jab Djab comprises three core musicians : Andre Whiteman , Wayne Stoute and Ross Whiteman . Stoute is from Trinidad and Tobago and the Whiteman brothers are from Grenada . Ross plays guitar and sings lead , Andre , bass and background vocals , Wayne , drums and background vocals . All three members of the group compose , produce , and perform their own music , having released one album , JUMP UP AND JAM under the name Jab Jab , and a second album , SPIRIT MOVE YA with the single MASALA , on November 12th 2021 .
Jab Djab surrounds itself with horns , keyboards , percussion , and background singers on many an occasion , faithfully
reproducing the brassy , tropical vibe of their music . The group has moved away from using the name JAB JAB because of a proliferation online of groups , songs and characters using exactly that name . It represents an iconic presence of the Caribbean penchant for street theatre , mock severity and playfulness . The new name JAB DJAB enables the band to occupy its own space without compromising its mission or even the pronunciation of its name . Jab Djab ’ s music has been used in movies and TV programs including Thin ice ( 2011 ), Taxi to L . A ( 1997 ), The Fosters ( Netflix ), Ugly Betty , Murder she wrote , the Glades , Burn Notice , Body of proof , and Elementary , as well as on compilations like THE CARIBBEAN
