I think that the current ‘ sustainable ’ fashion model is not sustainable , as there is a lot of green washing behind the sustainability image of more than 95 % of the fashion industries . I consider regenerative design ( co-creating with nature ), a real solution , as well as the responsibility of fashion brands to stimulate a change in consumer culture , less and better .
There are many brands that intend to present a re-branding or philosophy with basic changes in the composition of the materials they use , but the change must be much deeper than this . Radical is the way to go , not only in the raw material , but in the entire chain production and throughout the life cycle of the product , therefore we are the designers that can largely be responsible for this change .
In 10 years , I envision myself leading a different fashion system that has influenced a new culture of consumption and production . A new aesthetics and the redefinition of luxury , based on regenerative design , circular economy and distributed design . A planet with fashion and consumers as a part of the solution and not of the problem .
