started my first venture as an entrepreneur with a candle company , and later on discovered my passion to produce and create . After a year of living in Germany as an exchange student , I decided to study Industrial design . Soon , I started trying creative ways of making , sourcing , producing , and selling . I started testing natural fibers to build artifacts and in 2006 , I created in Chile , as my thesis project , the first non-tripulated Drone , when back then , they were just ideas . In 2007 , I returned to Ecuador and founded a design company , called “ Reino Studios ”, with my brother and business partner . Throughout almost 12 years , we empowered 400 artisans in Latin American , designed the six time Award-winning Luxury Train in Ecuador , built an iconic condohotel in front of the sea , and spoke at a TEDx talk .
For the past two years , I specialized in Luxury Accessories Design at Instituto Marangoni in Italy , testing and learning more about sustainable sourcing and biomaterials at Fabricademy in Spain . Now , I bring forth my journey of discovery and what is , for me , the origin of the future .
FASHION HISTORY
My career in the world of fashion began in 2018 when
I traveled to Italy to do the Master in Luxury Accessories Design & Management in Marangoni , and later a diploma in Digital Fabrication , Circular Economy and Sustainability at Fabricademy in the IAAC Barcelona . For the previous 10 years I was an entrepreneur , industrial designer , conceptual architect , artisan and student coach and REINO Studios Creative Director .
I define myself as an conceptual designer . In my signature aesthetic , I have defined an eco-futuristic style that reflects optimal performance and reshapes sustainability , which I wanted to apply into the art , design and fashion . The footwear industry was a good way to start .
Fashion and accessories design has been the outlet to express my nuances of tone , textures and color from the Andes and embellished shapes from the industrial influences . Culture , biology and technology coming together to show ethics and aesthetics of the future , driven by more than just the singularity of an object but to meld biological processes in the creation . I am determined to research and test the possibilities of sustainable materiality and technology through ethical sourcing .
